BLATHER AND RANTAGE:
Whee, it's my birthday! And the weather today was freakishly gorgeous, we're talking midsummer weather in the middle of winter, here. So I hung out outside most of the day, being lazy. After weeks of rain and blah it was just lovely. And one of my friends sent me a "tower of chocolate", I am now set for life. :3
Halloween was rather entertaining. Even though it was cold and drizzling and I was sorely tempted to stay inside where it was nice and cozy, I did eventually bother to throw together a costume and step out for a while. I wound up at this apparently not-so-legal party in a loft with live drumming over the DJ set and some pretty cool costumes (a couple of ladies had full Eighteenth Century gowns and wigs, nicely done.) Anyway, it was super crowded and everybody was on the dancefloor (including me, and the 18th century ladies,) and things were generally getting raucous - when the cops showed up and threw us all out. There was a vague mention of some minor fire regulation or something, I personally think the cops were just cranky because they were stuck on duty instead of partying.
I think it's the first party I've ever actually been thrown out of...
There was a steampunk bar involved, too (more cool costumes.) Anyway, the evening wound up with a hot dinner at 3:00am and reading Lovecraft and Poe under the blankets, as the cold drizzle drizzled on outside. All rather appropriate.

We're as stubborn as mules with our blood on fire when we're not at Sunday mass. We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say "Kiss my Irish ass."
